We are SO excited for many reasons this month!  First of all we are now meeting back at our original home - DoubleTree Guest Suites, 2601 Richmond Road!  It has now been fully renovated, and they are excited to be welcoming us back.  Secondly, we are happy to be meeting jointly with our good friends from the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) again.

And last, but certainly not least, we are excited to welcome Matt Smith to speak to us on the Whens, Whys and Hows of Elder Care Planning.  Matt is an Attorney with Elder Law Lawyers - McClelland and Associates, PLLC, in Lexington, KY.  As an elder law attorney and managing partner, he assists clients facing challenges with special needs and Medicaid planning, powers of attorney and trusts, estate planning through wills, Social Security, VA benefits planning, guardianship and probate.  He received his BA from Centre College and MBA from Walden University.  His JD was earned from the Salmon P Chase College of Law at Northern KY University.

Discussing elder care planning with clients can be both difficult and uncomfortable, but it is necessary.  When should advisors have this conversation?  What words should or should not be used?  What documents are necessary, and who should be included in the conversation?  This meeting will focus on answering these and other burning questions regarding elder care planning.

A buffet lunch with be served at this meeting.  Lunch and networking begin at 11:30 with the meeting starting at 12:00.  We will finish around 1:00.  The cost of this meeting is $20 for members and $25 for guests.

If you wish to attend this meeting, you must RSVP no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, February 2nd,  by either clicking this link - https://www.bgepc.org/events/event/24645 - or by replying directly to this email.  Please be sure to RSVP so that we have plenty of space and food for everyone.  Those who come to the meeting having not RSVP'd may run the risk of being turned away at the door if there is not enough space, so please be sure to RSVP even if you have pre-paid your lunches for the year.  You may cancel your reservations up to the time of the event.

If you will be bringing a guest, please be sure that I have their name so that a nametag can be prepared for them.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, February 6th, from 11:30-1:00 at the DoubleTree Guest Suites!
